When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for me to dissolve the bands which have connected me with homework, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that I should declare the causes which impel me to the separation. One reason is that homework can be overloading when there is a lot of it in a week. Another reason is that homework doesn't always reinforce the lessons learned in class. One last reason is that homework can be tedious and interferes with other people's schedule or if they don't have time for it, they can lose points.

ATDOAPTI Poems

JUNIOR
I am from old suits, from a family filled with addiction.
I am from the poverty, and disorder.
I am from ceremonies and the Spokane Tribe, from Mary and Grandmother Spirit and Arnold Spirit Sr.
I am from the people who never prosper and stay isolated.
From being thankful that they weren’t killed on thanksgiving.
I'm from the Spokane Indian Reservation, from alcohol and pancakes.
From the brain issues, the secret novel writing, and the drinking addiction.

I am from leaving the reservation, from spreading my wings.
  • Junior is a Spokane Indian who has left the reservation trying to follow his dreams.
  • He is leader because he is showing the other Indians on the reservation that they can leave.

JUNIOR’S SISTER
I am from books, from isolation.
I am from the desolate reservation.
I am from the grassy fields of Montana.
I am from writing romance novels and drinking, from Arnold and Junior and Agnes.
I am from dreams being crushed and stale living.
From being never able to release my novels to leaving the reservation.
I'm from the Spokane Reservation, the booze, the caring and understanding of Grandma.
From the doodling, the novel writing, and the braveness of facing the outside world.
I am from exploring the unknown, from running off to live my life how I dreamed of.
  • Junior's Sister was a Spokane Indian that liked to write romance novels but decided that her dreams of being a writer were impossible so she wasted away in her basement
  • Junior's Sister is a leader because she followed her dreams and her writing to Montana where it sadly killed her. This shows to everyone else that living your dreams is possible

Colonial Life vs Today

Back in the colonial era life was very different but in some ways the same. One difference was the rights. For example, women back then couldn't own land, but now they can. There are a few similarities such as the right to bear arms (unless Hillary gets elected). Another category is religion. Not all colonies in that era had religious freedom and some people would be forced to leave or killed if they believed in a different religion. Now all religions are welcome in the United States. One last category would be education. Most people back then were probably not as educated as today or didn't have any education. I hope you enjoyed this short paragraph comparing colonial life to today!

Three Tribes That I Identify With

In A True Diary of a Part-Time Diary, the main character, Junior, identifies with many "tribes" or groups. Here's a quick blog post of what groups I identify with. The first tribe I identify with is the coders\programmers "tribe". I love to program and do it daily (maybe a little too much). Another tribe I identify with is the tennis "tribe". I play tennis a lot and it's fun to grow and get better. One last "tribe", I identify with is the gaming tribe. Whenever I'm not programming, playing tennis or doing schoolwork, I'm playing games.
